Amazon IX – Results
The ninth annual Amazon Open, held Sunday, June 10, 2012 at DC Fencers Club, was the biggest event yet, with 65 competitors in epee and sabre.
Among the fencers competing in both events were London-bound Team USA Pentathlete Suzanne Stettinius (epee) and two-time Veteran World Champion in Sabre Delia Turner.
Congratulations to DC Fencers Club members, who took five of the top 16 spots in the epee event (out of 50 competitors overall), and for medaling in women’s sabre. For full results, visit askfred.net.
Kudos to all our fencers for your competitive spirit! We also offer a grand salute to DCFC Member and Amazon tournament organizer Valerie Asher, who has promoted and realized greater competitive opportunities for women fencers through this very successful tournament.
