Dear all, over the last few weeks DC Fencers Club members have competed in a number of USA and World Championships and have brought home absolutely wonderful results. Here is the list:
Cadet World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan:
Eugene Chung: 18th in Cadet (16y.o. and under) Sabre, congratulations to him and his coach Dariusz Gilman!
Katerine Holmes, representing Chevy Chase Fencing Club: Silver in Junior (19y.o. and under) team event, 5th in Cadet, 23rd in ind junior. Congratulations the her and her coaching staff!
North American Veteran’s Cup, Texas:
Jim Adams, 70 y.o and over: Gold in Men’s Foil! Gold in Men’s Epee, Silver in Men’s Sabre!
Kaz Campe, 70y.o. and over: Silver in Men’s Epee!

Congratulations to Emiliano Kaptain who was 8th in Cadet World Cup in Konin Poland!
US Sabre Cadet Teams won both Gold and Silver that World Cup (DCFC’s Michael Josephs and Eugene Chung fenced on the Gold team, Kaptain fenced on the Silver.)

Thank you everyone for a great 2008/2009 fencing season! The Men’s Epee team of Corwin Duncan, Coach Robert Suchorski, Ilya Lobanenkov, James Kaull and Isaac Erbele brought back the Bronze Medal. James Kaull also took 8th place in Division 1. Katharine Holmes, fencing for Chevy Chase won Gold Under-16 and took the Bronze in Under-19. Kazimieras Campe won Gold in the epee Veteran-70 event.
Dariusz Gilman’s Sabre programme results: In Under 16 sabre, 6th and 7th place go to Eugene Chung and Michael Josephs. Gordon Long – Bronze Medal in Y14 sabre. Marta Lasota took 8th in Youth-10. Men’s Sabre in team event took 5th. We’re looking forward to the next season!
