Sam Cohen to compete in Maccabiah Games this July
DCFC member Sam Cohen was very recently invited to compete in the Maccabiah Games, a quadrennial international athletic competition which takes place July 4-11 in Israel.
Sam will be the first competitor representing Japan in the games’ history. DCFC Coach David Ruskin will accompany Sam as his coach. Just last month, Sam took bronze in Division II Men’s Sabre at the April North American Cup, a national event sponsored by USA Fencing.
The Maccabiah Games are the quadrennial Jewish Olympics, held in Israel the year following the Olympic Games. Every four years, the best Jewish athletes from throughout the world compete in Open, Masters, Juniors, and Disabled competitions. This year’s Games feature more than 10,000 athletes.
Sam’s family has posted a funding page to help defray costs for this competition. Visit Sam’s gofundme page to learn more.
