A toast to victory! DCFC hosts first Champagne Challenge
There were many firsts at this tournament on Sunday, August 30. It was the first DCFC Champagne Challenge of the season, the first time this competition had a therapy bunny, and the first time Amanda Sirico won the Champagne Challenge. It’s worth noting that Sirico is the number one ranked Junior Women’s Epee fencer in the United States. That’s how strong an event this is.
Congratulations to all the fencers who joined us, and kudos to DCFCers who took five of the top eight spots. Thanks to meet manager Cindy Sirico for a well-run event.
A special salute to fencers who garnered top eight spots

Arjun Gupta, silver
Andrew Nosil, bronze
Daniel Campbell, bronze
Son Nam Tran, fifth place

Sam Dietrich, eighth place
Mark your calendars; the next Champagne Challenge is Sunday, September 20 at DCFC. Join us next time for some A-level fencing and camaraderie.
