A Viking raid, Budapest sabre silver, and close-to-home victories

Tournament roundup

DCFC fencers are getting great results all over the world and close to home.

At the Budapest Men’s Saber World Cup on November 1, Team USA took silver for a second straight medal on the circuit after a 45-44 heartbreaker against Russia in the finals. Congratulations to DCFC member Peter Souders, along with Jeff Spear, Daryl Homer, Eli Dershwitz and Coach Zoran Tulum.  The Budapest silver is the U.S. Men’s Saber Team’s second medal in less than a month on Sunday. Team USA’s second podium finish of the season not only moves the Americans up to a No. 4 World Ranking, but the U.S. Men’s Saber Team has established itself as a podium contender for the 2016 World Team Championships which will be held in Rio de Janeiro.  Read more at USFencing.org.
