Tom Wright Memorial Veteran Fencing Tournament – Results

Fencing is a lifelong sport, demonstrated on Sunday, when more than 60 fencers in their 40s through 70s gathered at DCFC for the annual Tom Wright Memorial Veteran Fencing Tournament. This three-weapon tournament is held in honor of Wright, who was a longtime Capitol Division member. The champion in each event gets their name inscribed on the trophy, which resides at DC Fencers Club.

Congratulations to all our vet fencers on getting in the game, and a special salute to those DCFC fencers who garnered top results. A super special salute to three-weapon threat Joe Deucher, who medaled in epee, foil, and sabre, followed by Kashi Way, who garnered gold in epee and silver in foil. Way to go!

Thanks also to our meet manager Lewis Sloter, to our referees, and to Coach David Ruskin for taking photos. More to come.
