Amazon Open XIV Results
While Wonder Woman was battling evil on the big screen this weekend, her fellow women warriors gathered to fight for glory and honor at the fourteenth annual Amazon Open, held Sunday, June 4 at DC Fencers Club.
Competitors gathered from as far as Ohio, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania to compete in events in epee and sabre at one of the strongest women’s fencing events on the East Coast.
It takes a community to run a fencing tournament, and we salute meet manager Katelyn Keegan, special guest and DCFC alum lifer Lewis Sloter, our referee cadre, and family and friends for your support.
We offer a special salute to Valerie Asher, the founder and organizer of the Amazon Open. Valerie shows by example how Amazons lead, build up other women, and encourage them to grow through combat, and in life.
