Break out the Champagne Challenge, here are DCFC’s latest club tournament results
10/27/13
The October Champagne Challenge featured events in both sabre and epee. Thanks to everyone for joining us, and a special salute to our DCFC competitors for representing and bringing your best game!
We also offer a special thanks to DCFC armorer Kerry Swick, who ran a well-paced, two-day tournament.
Olympians in our midst
The Champagne Challenge epee event is consistently strong, and Sunday was enriched with the presence of not one, but two Olympians. Eric Boisse of France was an Olympic team champion in 2004 and triple World Team champion in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Jon Normile was a U.S. Olympic team member in 1992, a member of six World Championship Teams between 1989 and 1999, and a two-time National Champion, among his many achievements. At the Champagne Challenge, Eric and Jon gave the crowd a treat with their world-class semifinal bout, then Eric went on to win Sunday’s event.
