Top winners at the Senior Women’s Epee event at the 2015 Cherry Blossom Open

March 30, 2015

when cherry blossoms
scatter…
no regrets

– a haiku by Japanese poet Issa, b. 1763.

Congratulations to the scores of DCFCers who fought with no regrets in the 2015 Cherry Blossom Open at the University of Maryland on March 28-29.

A special salute to DC Fencers Club competitors who took top spots in some very strong events. Winners received special Japanese-themed gifts, and the CBO t-shirt was designed by the multitalented DCFCer Chantal Montrose, who took gold in the Senior Women’s Epee event.

Proceeds from the Cherry Blossom Open will support the Capitol Division Developmental Fencing program, which offers travel grants to help Capitol Division fencers reach their full potential in fencing.

Thanks to our families, friends, meet management team, referees, and volunteers who helped to make this event a success, and support Capitol Division fencers.
