DCFC medals at the Dallas North American Cup
DCFC sent more than 20 fencers deep into the heart of Texas, and they came back with medals from the Dallas North American Cup (December 5-8) at the Dallas Convention Center. This national event featured competitions in all three weapons (epee, foil, and sabre) in the Division I, II, and Veteran age categories.
DCFC gives a grand salute to Valerie Asher who won gold in Vet 50 Women’s Epee at the Dallas North American Cup on Saturday. Asher made a quick return to the top ranks after being waylaid by injury last season.
In Division 1 Women’s Epee, Margherita Guzzi Vincenti and Amanda Sirico earned bronze and sixth place medals respectively in Division 1 Women’s Epee. Kudos also to Capitol division member Kat Holmes on earning silver in the same event.
Dennis Kraft earns a top eight spot in Division I Men’s Epee at the December North American Cup
In Division 1 Men’s Epee, Dennis Kraft earned the number eight spot advancing past a field of more than 190 competitors. Dennis was seeded 111 out of pools, and he took out the number 17 seed to take his path. After that, Kraft advanced all the way to the table of 8, straight through repêchage.
On the final day of competition, Sam Dietrich earned the number six spot in Division II Men’s Epee and Sally Gifford advanced to eighth place in Veteran Women’s Epee.
DCFC salutes former Veteran World Champion Kaz Campe on his bronze medal in Vet 70 Men’s Epee. Jim Adams got the trifecta with medals in Vet 70 Men’s Foil (sixth place), Vet 70 Men’s Epee (seventh place), and Vet 70 Men’s Sabre (seventh place).
