A big salute to all our DC Fencers Club members who travelled to Minnesota to compete in the Division 1 National Championship and April North American Cup on April 10-14, 2014.
DCFCers brought home eight medals, including a gold, two silver, three bronze and two more top eight spots.
Amanda Sirico won bronze in the Division 1 Women’s Epee National Championship event, a whole two days after winning silver in the Junior World Championship Team event in Bulgaria! More on that big achievement soon!
Kudos to Kat Holmes, Capitol Division Member and former DCFC member, who tied for bronze in the same event.
We also salute 2014 National Champion Margherita Guzzi Vincenti, who took gold in the same event. Margherita, who graduated from Penn State in December after an outstanding NCAA fencing career under Coach Emmanuil Kaidanov, plans to represent DC Fencers Club in the 2014-15 season.
DCFCers also took podium spots in the Veterans event. Way to go, Diane, Peter, and to Jim Adams on your two medals in foil and sabre!
