Fencers take over the National Mall at DC #FencingMob15
The DC #FencingMob15 was a great success. On Sunday, September 6, more than 30 fencers from fencing clubs around the Washington, DC metro area gathered on the National Mall to celebrate and promote the sport of fencing as we kick off the 2015-2016 Olympic season. The event raised awareness of the sport globally and encouraged audiences to find a fencing club near them through their national fencing federation.
DC-area fencers joined fellow escrimeurs in 181 cities in 38 countries from Costa Rica to Ukraine who took part in this global promotional event organized by the Italian Fencing Federation?. This was the second annual FencingMob; and more cities and countries participated than ever before.
Our sincere thanks to Valerie Asher for instigating the second annual DC ?#?fencingmob. We thank all the participants and volunteers who took time out of their Labor Day weekend for this event.
