Jacob Asher, organizer of the 2012 Fences with Wolves tournament

 Fences With Wolves, the youth tournament organized by DCFC Member Jacob Asher, was a howling success.

 

The fundraiser, which sought to raise $5,000 for the Yellowstone Wolf Project, which helps track wolves reintroduced to Yellowstone Park in California.

 

Within weeks of the June 3 tournament, Jacob's efforts raised $5,905.95.

 

Jacob said the donations may buy two VHS tracker collars.

 

"The Yellowstone Foundation staff were amazed that a fencing club in Washington, DC would organize a tournament for them," said Jacob. For his fundraising efforts, the foundation sent Jacob a wolf paw print relief. Jacob said the wolf print would be incorporated into the trophy.

 

"Fences with Wolves will be back next year," said Jacob.
