Fences With Wolves Youth Tournament – Results

DCFC was pleased to host the third annual Fences With Wolves mixed epee tournament on Sunday, May 4th. 74 fencers in three age categories battled for the title of alpha wolf while raising money for the Yellowstone Park Foundation. With a goal of $3000, the fencers have already raised $1300 with more to come as sponsorship pledges are fulfilled.
In Y10, Fencing Sports Academy member Hadley Husisian took the gold medal. DCFC fencers took three top 8 medals, with Emilie Reitinger placing 2nd, Clark Donovan placing 3rd, and Josh Reitinger placing 5th.
In Y12, DCFC fencer Justin Haddad bested clubmate Avo Reid for the right to have his name engraved on the FWW trophy, while Nirali Igoe took home a medal for 5th place.
In Y14, DCFC fencers took the top three spots, with tournament founder Jacob Asher taking gold; Andrew Nosil taking silver, and Eric Cao taking bronze. Sam Dietrich took 7th place.
Congratulations to our medalists as well as the fencers who turned out from Chevy Chase Fencing Club, Fencing Sports Academy, Maryland Fencing Club, Reston Fencers Club, Baltimore Fencing Center, and Nashville Fencing Academy to support this great cause.
While this tournament was founded by DCFC fencer Jacob Asher, it would not be possible without the support of the greater community. DCFC thanks meet manager Lewis Sloter, as well as referees Dennis Kraft, Rebecca Chimahusky, Nick Ferrara, Isaac Shelanski, Ezra Wright, Roshan Talagala, Arjuna Subramanian, Christina Giblin, Jack Butler and Sanzhina Erdyneeva.
