Gold at home and away for DCFC fencers
At home and away, DCFC fencers took podium spots in competitions this weekend. We applaud all our fencers on getting in the game and offer a special salute to those who took top spots.
DCFC hosted the Tom Wright Memorial Veteran Fencing Tournament on Sunday. Congratulations to Jeff Snider, Kashi Way, and Joe Deucher on sweeping gold, silver, and bronze at the Mixed Epee event. Kashi turned around and took gold in the foil event that followed, well done! We salute Laura S. Johnson on winning gold in the Mixed Veteran Sabre event in the afternoon.
DCFCers travelled to Philadelphia to compete in the American Challenge ROC (DIV1A, DIV2, VET) & RJC. Congratulations to Justin Haddad on earning double gold in the Div1A event and the Junior Men’s Epee event. Also in JME, Nick Hensal took a top 16 (12) and Cameron King advanced to the top 64 (39).
In Boston at the Pomme de Terre, Valerie Asher took bronze in the Veteran Women’s Epee event and fifth place in the Senior Women’s Epee event. Way to go, Valerie!
