May 21 – Battle the Bullies Y10/12/14 Epee Tournament
On May 21, DC Fencers Club hosts Battle the Bullies, a tournament featuring Epee Y10, Y12, and Y14 events.
The event is a fundraiser for STOMP Out Bullying, which focuses on reducing and preventing all forms of bullying. The organization teaches effective responses to bullying and educates children and teens how to respond in school and online to peers.
This tournament continues the legacy of “Fences with Wolves,” a youth tournament to benefit the Yellowstone Wolf Project, organized by junior fencer Jacob Asher for five years. Jacob passed the baton for this youth tournament to Nirali Igoe, who is organizing this event.
