Medals and World Team spots at U.S. Veteran Championships

DCFCers were all business at the 2021 USA Fencing Veteran Championships in Atlanta, Georgia on August 27-28. This event was the last step in earning coveted spots to compete at the Veteran World Championships, to be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 1-6.

Our fencers earned seven medals (one gold, two silver, four bronze) and three top eight spots.  Three DCFC fencers qualified to represent Team USA at Vet Worlds.  We offer a grand salute to Valerie Asher, Dick Richards, and Joe Deucher on earning Vet World Team slots based on their results in the 2020-2021 season. Well done!

We also applaud our Vet 40 fencers Marie Lawson and Laura S. Johnson on earning gold, silver, and bronze in your age group and vet combined events. While you can’t yet compete at Vet Worlds, you’re making your mark as ‘baby vets.’

A salute to all our fencers who got in the game and a special salute to those who took top spots.
