Peter Souders to coach sabre at DC Fencers Club

Peter Souders joins DC Fencers Club as the latest member of our cadre of sabre coaches.
Souders will teach sabre classes and lessons this fall, alongside Head Coach Janusz Smolenski and Coach Jérôme Guth who leads a September 15 sabre clinic assisted by 2013 Division I National Champion Alexander Ochocki.
Souders brings great fencing experience to his new role as DCFC coach. He is a Junior Olympic and Division One finalist, and was a member of the 2013 US Senior World Cup Travel Squad. During his NCAA career at Boston College, he was a four-time MVP and NCAA National Championship qualifier. He finished his collegiate career by being named Boston College’s 2012 Outstanding Scholar-Athlete for the senior class; an honor that he received ahead of athletes from the much larger sports of football and basketball.
A longtime member of DC Fencers Club, Souders has contributed his expertise as a teaching assistant for many DCFC classes and camps, and is well known for his generous and intelligent mentorship of fencers throughout the club.
