Valerie Asher selected for USA Fencing Leadership Academy
Congratulations to DCFC member Valerie Asher, who has been selected as one of 12 members of the inaugural Leadership Academy.
These members from represent different facets of the USA Fencing community, including volunteers, current and former able-bodied and parafencing National Team members, coaches, referees, veteran fencers, parents and more.
Nearly 70 individuals applied for acceptance in the first academy class in which members will participate in 10 sessions on topics such as governance, history and organizational structure of USA Fencing and other sports governing bodies, finance, domestic and international events, youth programming, international programs and more.
As a longtime member of our club and a leader in our community, we are grateful to Valerie for taking the time to learn about the inner workings of the national governing organization of our sport and share her knowledge with our club and our division.
